Public Speaking

Public Speaking: 2 credits Course description: Communicating effectively is fundamental, not only in a leadership position, but also in various other areas of life. Communication is what separates the average from the extraordinary. Effective communication skills can also aid you in resolving conflicts and in establishing harmony between conflicting parties. By learning to communicate in an effective manner, you’ll get more of what you want out of life. Not only will it help you to encourage people to adopt your ideas, but it also allows you to build stronger relationships with them. This course is designed to equip business students with the skills necessary in public speaking within a professional context. Emphasis will be placed on developing confidence, clarity in projects presentations, meetings, and professional scenarios. CLO 1. Develop effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills. CLO 2. Learn to structure and deliver clear, compelling, and professional presentations. CLO 3. Understand the importance of audience analysis and adaptation. CLO 4. Build confidence through practice and constructive feedback. Managing anxiety: Learn to put words on what you are feeling with objectives : reduce stress, and rapidly changing world and uncertain future. Teaching and Learning Strategies In this course various teaching and learning strategies will be applied: • Learning by examples • Learning by problem solving • Transfer of knowledge
