Idioms Galore surveys the highly rich and expressive world of figurative language in English, touching upon the artful use of metaphors, similes, personification, hyperbole, symbolism, and other literary devices to convey deeper meanings, evoke emotions, and enhance communication. This course focuses on a hard and rather neglected part of the language- idiomatic expressions; when taught earlier on, it boosts students’ oral and written communication. The idiomatic part of the course is divided thematically exposing learners to the right content and prompting them to use idioms effectively in nuanced and impactful ways. After a brief introduction to literary devices and a detailed immersion into the world of idioms, learners are expected to employ idiomatic language to boost and beautify their output.
