Evaluation of shear bond strength between 3D-printed denture teeth and 3D-printed denture base after Er-YAG laser surface treatment: an in vitro study

Description :

This in vitro study aims to evaluate the shear bond strength between 3D-printed denture teeth and 3D-printed denture base materials; both fabricated using VOCO's dental resins. With the growing adoption of 3D printing in prosthodontics, it is essential to establish effective protocols that ensure durable bonding between denture components. The research investigates the impact of different surface treatment techniques on the bond strength between the printed teeth and base especially Er:YAG laser irradiation. The Er:YAG laser, known for its precision and minimal thermal damage, is being evaluated as a potentially superior method for preparing bonding surfaces. Each group of specimens will undergo one of the surface treatments prior to bonding, and shear bond strength will be measured using a universal testing machine.
