This course, centered on literary translation from English into Arabic, aims to enhance the student's capacity to faithfully recreate a translated work, considering the linguistic, semantic, and cultural constraints unique to literary translation. It provides students with the opportunity to adapt the cultural elements of a literary text while remaining mindful of the inherent ambiguities in literary discourse. The course also delves into addressing challenges specific to various sub-fields of literature, with the ultimate goal of equipping students to translate the source text accurately and with subtlety, all while preserving the artistic and cultural integrity of the original work.
