Youmna Zein graduated in 1991 from the Faculty of Law and Political Science at Saint Joseph University (FDSP) with a Master’s degree in Private Law. She pursued her studies at Panthéon-Assas University (Paris II), where she obtained a Post-Master’s diploma (Diplôme d’Études Approfondies) in Business and Economic Law in 1992, followed by a PhD with high distinction (summa cum laude) in 1997. Since 2003, Youmna Zein has been teaching Banking Law at the FDSP (Master’s program), as well as courses on Financing Techniques (syndicated loansYoumna Zein graduated in 1991 from the Faculty of Law and Political Science at Saint Joseph University (FDSP) with a Master’s degree in Private Law. These courses are offered within the LL.M in Business Law (in both Beirut and Dubai faculties of law at USJ) and the Post-Master’s diploma in Civil Law. In 2015, she was appointed Associate Professor at the FDSP and has been serving as Director of the LL.M in Business Law since then. After three years as Vice-Chairman of the Private Law Department, she was elected Chairman in 2024. She was also elected President of the Lebanese Association of Legal Sciences. She has participated in numerous local and international conferences and authored several publications, including a book entitled Les Pools Bancaires – Aspects Juridiques (Syndicated Loans – Legal Aspects), which received the award from the French Association “Droit et Commerce” and a distinction from the European Association of Banking and Financial Law. A member of the Beirut Bar Association since 1996, Youmna Zein is a Senior Partner at Zein Law Firm. She acts as a legal adviser to various banks and large corporations, handling advisory and litigation matters in M&A, financial and credit arrangements, and commercial contracts.
