He is a Professor at the Faculty of Education, Saint Joseph University of Beirut. He holds a PhD degree in Education from the University of Leiecster, UK, with an emphasis on curriculum and instruction and educational technology. He serves as the Head of the Scientific Committee at the Faculty of Education . Prof. Safa teaches courses at the graduate level (MA), gives seminars at the post graduate level (PhD), and supervises PhD theses. Additionally, He was appointed by the Lebanese Ministry of Education as a member of the Technical Committee to evaluate and validate the Master's in Education and Teaching Diploma programs offered by private universities in Lebanon. He also serves as a national expert for developing the Lebanese national curriculum framework . Prof. Safa has been appointed at European Training Foundation (ETF) as an international expert and a CNL (Creating New Learning) facilitator of Innovation and Teaching and Learning expert to support, share and validate innovative practices in the South and East Mediterranean (Algeria, Egypt, Palestine, Morocco, Lebanon, Jordan, Tunisia) where he documented and communicated innovative practices by blogging on international community platform, built regional networks, and conducted webinars to support the countries in transforming learning into innovative practices and share best practices. He has been also appointed by ETF as the ambassador of the Community of Innovative Educators in Lebanon. Prof. Safa is the recipient of an award of developing solutions in the field of extended reality (XR) applications for skills development and lifelong learning in the context of “Assessment and Certification”, received in Skills Experts Meeting on the Future of Skills Extended lifelong learning realities, hosted by the European Training Foundation and the International Training Center in Turin, Italy, June 2022. He is an author of articles published in refereed international journals, speaker in national and international conferences, and a reviewer of journal articles published in Springer, Elsevier, and Taylor and Francis.
